Shroud of Turin Education
My goal is to educate people about the Shroud of Turin, an ancient linen cloth with a faint image of a brutally scourged and crucified man, who was capped with thorns and pierced in the side. This mysterious image is extremely superficial, acts as a photo-negative, and has three dimensional characteristics. The wounds depicted on this burial Shroud mirror the Biblical narrative related to the life, suffering, death, burial, and Resurrection of Jesus Christ.

I have been interested in The Shroud of Turin since I was a teenager. One of the members of my church in Boulder, CO was a member of the 1978 Shroud of Turin Research Project Team (STURP) and he shared his experiences and knowledge with me. Since then, I have extensively studied the Shroud, first through personal exploration and then in 2018 through the course in Shroud Studies offered online, in English by the Pontifical University, Regina Apostolorum in Rome, Italy.
This course led me to work on the development of a permanent exhibit on “The Most Famous Burial of All Time: The Shroud of Turin” at the National Museum of Funeral History in Houston, TX. Daniel Cardinal DiNardo blessed the exhibit, and it was opened to the public on April 26, 2023. As a result of this experience, I have joined the international organization, Othonia, to assist with the development of Shroud exhibits around the world. Othonia (Greek word for “linens”) is dedicated to the “preservation, promotion and dissemination of discoveries and knowledge about the Shroud.”
I am particularly dedicated to sharing the message of the Shroud with young people. This August, under the sponsorship of The National Shroud of Turin Exhibit, I am traveling to Lisbon, Portugal to share the Shroud with young pilgrims from all over the world.
